Jiangxi Premium Agricultura:Products (GBA) Production, Sales & Import-Export Business Matching Event

How Far Can a Xunwu Honey Tangerine Travel?

Starting from the hilly orchards of Ganzhou, it travels south along a cold-chain trunk line, takes a rest in a Yuhu Cold Chain high-standard cold store, and is then sorted, packed and delivered according to orders. By the next morning, it may appear at a fruit stall in a Hong Kong street market, or board a cargo ship bound for Southeast Asia and reach a dining table even farther away.

On 11–12 September, the “Gan Goes Global · Gan Shines Bright” Jiangxi Premium Agricultural Products (Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area) Production–Marketing and Import–Export Matchmaking Event was held at Yuhu Cold Chain (Guangzhou) Trading Centre. Hosted by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the event aimed to deepen agricultural industrial collaboration between Jiangxi and the Greater Bay Area, and to promote precise matchmaking between Jiangxi’s premium agricultural products and the Bay Area’s consumer market, modern distribution channels and import–export resources. About 300 participants attended, including leaders in charge of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, principals of its Market and Foreign Affairs Division, representatives of foreign consulates general in Guangzhou, relevant responsible officials of the Jiangxi Provincial Office in Guangdong (Shenzhen), officials from agriculture and rural affairs bureaux of various districted cities, as well as representatives of exhibiting enterprises, Bay Area buyers, channel distributors and logistics providers.

The dialogue between mountains and sea unfolded once again at Yuhu Cold Chain (Guangzhou) Trading Centre.

Mountains and Sea Meet, Good Products Come Well Prepared

On the morning of 11 September, the atrium of Zone B at Yuhu Cold Chain Guangzhou Trading Centre was filled with a rising hum of voices and aromas. More than 40 booths were lined up, showcasing products from 11 districted cities including Nanchang, Ganzhou, Yichun, Ji’an, Fuzhou, Shangrao, Jiujiang, Pingxiang, Jingdezhen, Yingtan and Xinyu.

The booths presented a condensed “Jiangxi Local Products Gazetteer”: Gannan passion fruit, Taihe silkie chicken, Ningdu yellow chicken, Shenglong fresh beef, specialty poultry eggs; Gougunao tea, Gannan high-mountain tea, vine tea, organic camellia oil; crayfish, Junshan Lake hairy crab; quick-frozen prepared dishes, selenium-rich rice, fruit and vegetable juice drinks, and snack foods. Many products carry green, organic and geographical indication certifications, as well as export qualifications such as HACCP, ISO22000, US FDA registration, EU organic certification and Halal certification. These fine products from Jiangxi, once “hidden fresh” in mountains and fields, came well prepared this time. Visitors pausing at booths, asking about prices and holding negotiations were the footnotes of the fair’s in-depth interaction.

The fair lasted two days. In parallel, the “Jade Full Mid-Autumn · Fresh Celebration of the National Day” Global Ingredients Sourcing Fair was in full swing within Yuhu Cold Chain Guangzhou Park, with more than 120 booths and hundreds of merchants in the park joining forces. The stock-up boom for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day formed the most vibrant Bay Area backdrop of the event.

Two Years of Deep Cultivation: From a “Pioneering Move” to a “Win-Win Chain”

The Bay Area market’s “appetite” for Jiangxi’s fine products was not built overnight.

Zheng Min, Party Secretary of the Jiangxi Agricultural Technology Extension Centre, said in his opening speech that the persistence of all parties during the operation of the Jiangxi Pavilion was precious evidence that Jiangxi’s agricultural products had retained a core display and matchmaking channel in the Greater Bay Area. The support policies introduced by Yuhu Cold Chain help reduce operating costs for settled enterprises and assist them in exploring the Bay Area market. He hoped that Jiangxi’s local entrepreneurs would leverage the Jiangxi Pavilion, jointly built by Yuhu Cold Chain and Jiangxi’s premium agricultural enterprises, to grow rapidly and become outstanding business entities rooted in the Bay Area and deeply engaged in the agricultural products market.

The story goes back to 18 April 2024. The Greater Bay Area Jiangxi Pavilion at Yuhu Cold Chain (Guangzhou) Trading Centre was unveiled, and 24 leading Jiangxi agricultural enterprises became “the first to eat crabs”, entering the heart of the Greater Bay Area with a “direct supply from origin + direct sales in the Bay Area” model. In its first year of operation, signed transaction value exceeded RMB 300 million, with five “leading enterprises” each surpassing RMB 30 million in transaction value.

Beyond the figures are stories of turning new pages. The monthly sales volume of Jiangxi Huaying Poultry Industry’s shelducks at Yuhu Cold Chain exceeded its previous annual sales volume in Jiangxi; Ningdu yellow chicken broke new ground through a regional dealership bidding model—“from mountain chicken to phoenix”—and became a calling card for Jiangxi products in the Bay Area; Lu Xiaolian reduced its logistics costs by 70% within one year and secured a large order for co-branded fresh lotus seed mooncakes from a high-end restaurant chain in the Bay Area. A number of enterprises were successfully incubated at the Jiangxi Premium Agricultural Products Greater Bay Area Brand Operation Centre of Yuhu Cold Chain, and their product recognition and market brand influence rose rapidly.

Challenges also exist in reality. The “White Paper on Jiangxi Agricultural Products Marketing in the Greater Bay Area” released the previous year showed that about 65% of Jiangxi agricultural products lacked full cold-chain protection on their way to the Greater Bay Area, and fewer than 35% of Bay Area consumers could accurately name more than three Jiangxi agricultural product brands. Yuhu Cold Chain’s solution is to independently build an OMO online–offline integrated trading platform and a shared agricultural product circulation ecosystem. Through high-standard cold stores, full-process temperature control, forward warehouse networks, agency warehousing and distribution, supply chain integration, shared marketing and one-code traceability circulation, the freshness from the mountains reaches Bay Area dining tables with lower loss and faster timeliness.

Two years of deep cultivation have accumulated quantitative changes into qualitative ones. The Greater Bay Area Jiangxi Pavilion continues to gather supply chain enterprises from Jiangxi’s cities, counties and provincial-level entities; more than 30 enterprises have opened up export links under the guidance of Yuhu Cold Chain; nearly 20 large-scale events have attracted more than 2,000 downstream buyers, with cumulative exposure exceeding 12 million. At this event, the “Yellow Book of Jiangxi Premium Agricultural Products Enterprises Entering the Bay Area and Going Global” was officially released, selecting 521 enterprises from nearly 6,000 recommended candidate enterprises—including leading enterprises, export leaders, Gan-Po authentic products, hit products and small, beautiful, special and refined enterprises—through comprehensive scoring, selecting one out of ten. The 521 Jiangxi enterprises going out in a group and braving the Greater Bay Area constitute a vivid map of Jiangxi premium agricultural products enterprises entering the Bay Area and going global.

From a “pioneering move” in layout to a “win-win chain” of symbiosis and shared prosperity, every link in this supply chain, with Yuhu Cold Chain as the chain leader, continues to generate new value. It is precisely this confidence that made the matchmaking and signing on 12 September feel like a natural outcome.

Precise Matchmaking: A Methodology for “Entering the Bay Area and Going Global”

On the morning of 12 September, the production–marketing and import–export matchmaking meeting opened on time at the Convention and Exhibition Centre on the 4th floor of Building A1 of the Trading Centre. After a speech by a leader of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, participating representatives delivered thematic speeches around “entering the Bay Area, going global, AI+ and platform+”; Jiangxi premium ingredient promotions, Bay Area procurement and export demand order releases, and signings of Jiangxi agricultural product matchmaking and procurement projects were held successively, with a number of procurement cooperation intentions landing on site.

On the afternoon of 12 September, multiple precise matchmaking themed activities ran in parallel, pointing to a key link in the “entering the Bay Area and going global” chain.

The Reverse Procurement Matchmaking Meeting wrote “production determined by demand” into the process. Special matchmaking zones were set up for instant retail and e-commerce supply chains, prepared dish raw materials, catering and group meals, export markets and the Changsha market. The procurement side presented its needs first, while the supply side followed the map, replacing “casting a wide net” with targeted negotiations.

The Hong Kong/Macao Supply and Export Tasting Matchmaking Meeting aimed at the “threshold for going global”. Export market trends, target market access standards, quality certification systems, packaging and labelling specifications, customs declaration and clearance procedures, international logistics and overseas channel development—these “professional questions” that trouble origin enterprises were addressed face-to-face by the Jade Premium team of Yuhu Cold Chain’s import and export trading company. The caviar brought by Jiangxi Xunhuang Technology Co., Ltd., which is marketed in many countries around the world, was served in the tasting room for Hong Kong buyers; Jiangxi’s “Chengxiang Jili” was well received by Hong Kong buyers for its premium fruit sources and special packaging designed for the Hong Kong market. A number of export orders and foreign trade service cooperation intentions were reached.

The Jiangxi–Guangdong Logistics / Greater Bay Area Forward Warehouse Matchmaking Meeting consolidated the “foundation”. Focusing on cold-chain transport, warehousing turnover, urban distribution, transport timeliness, logistics costs and full-process traceability, Greater Bay Area cold-chain logistics, warehousing and distribution, trunk transport and supply chain service enterprises sat around tables with Jiangxi enterprises to calculate costs clearly and smooth out the links, and another batch of logistics service cooperation intentions took root.

These multiple matchmaking sessions were a concentrated demonstration of Yuhu Cold Chain’s origin cooperation path. When Jiangxi enterprises settle in the park, they gain an “outpost” in the sales market; online platforms plus offline ground promotion bring procurement customers directly to them; agency warehousing and distribution and supply chain finance reduce comprehensive delivery costs; qualification certification, customs logistics and order services open up international channels; and the origin and temperature control information of each product can be verified by scanning a single code. Under the “AI+” proposition, this chain is accelerating its digital and intelligent transformation. The OMO model of online trading and offline fulfilment makes Jiangxi products “enter the Bay Area” more accurately and “go global” faster.

Li Junyan, Senior Vice President of Yuhu Cold Chain (China) Co., Ltd., said: “The Jiangxi Premium Agricultural Products Greater Bay Area Promotion Event has been held at Yuhu Cold Chain for three consecutive years. One pavilion, one chain, walking together all the way, has given Jiangxi agricultural products confidence in their origin, quality, collective strength and circle of friends.” From origin to the Greater Bay Area, to RCEP, and then to global dining tables, the world reachable by Jiangxi products is growing ever wider.

More than 30 Bay Area associations attended, including the Guangdong Jiangxi Chamber of Commerce, Guangdong Cold Chain Association, Guangdong Chain Store & Franchise Association, Guangdong Group Meal Distribution Association, Guangdong Catering Service Industry Association, Guangdong Organic Agriculture Association, Shenzhen Rice Bag and Vegetable Basket Federation, Shenzhen Group Meal Industry Association, Shenzhen Fresh Cold Chain and Urban Logistics Association, Zhuhai Food Supply Chain Association, Guangzhou Cuisine Association, Guangzhou Tea Industry Association, Functional Food Committee of the China Green Food Association, Hong Kong Food Innovation and Technology Centre, and the World Master Chefs Association for Cantonese Cuisine. The buyer line-up covered group meals, catering, retail, e-commerce, processing and supply chain channels. From fresh ingredients, rice, flour, grains and oils to prepared dishes, snack foods and festive gift boxes, procurement demand was highly aligned with Jiangxi enterprises’ product supply. Multiple matchmaking zones were bustling, with supply and demand sides exchanging contact details and arranging sample deliveries and quotations everywhere.

Huang Jiebin, General Manager of Yuhu Cold Chain Guangzhou Park, said: “We have always been fully committed to providing origin enterprises with comprehensive supply chain services and ecosystem support, helping them resolve worries about cross-regional operations and open up markets faster and better. Through Yuhu Cold Chain’s quality services, enterprises can enjoy greater peace of mind: more accurate warehousing and logistics monitoring, less loss, lower costs, and access to various market information to easily expand customers and sell goods.”

As the venue of the event, Yuhu Cold Chain (Guangzhou) Trading Centre provides Jiangxi origin enterprises with integrated support of “display + matchmaking + circulation”. Enterprises can store goods in advance in Yuhu Cold Chain’s Greater Bay Area forward warehouse, and Yuhu Cold Chain provides one-stop connection of warehousing, distribution and order-based fulfilment and delivery, helping enterprises lower transaction costs; enterprises with export needs can also access services for qualifications, certification, packaging and customs clearance.

It is understood that agriculture authorities at the provincial, municipal and county levels in Jiangxi will continue to deepen agricultural production–marketing collaboration with the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area. Relying on the Yuhu Cold Chain platform and the Jiangxi Premium Agricultural Products Brand Operation Centre, they will promote more “Gan-branded” premium agricultural products into the Bay Area and overseas, opening up new possibilities for more Jiangxi products in the Bay Area.

For Jiangxi products to break out, the origin advantages of a major geographical indication province take the lead, supported by high quality formed by industrialisation and green origin endowments, and every link in the supply chain is a matter of skill. The joint efforts of Yuhu Cold Chain have made the high-quality supply chain forged by the ecosystem a true “win-win chain”, and the distance between mountains and sea is no longer far.

That honey tangerine that set off from Ganzhou may at this moment be lying quietly in a temperature-controlled cold container. Its next stop is the Bay Area—and the world.
